Artwork title : Ferito e Prezioso
Ferito e Prezioso is a story about pain giving birth to something precious. At the center of the composition lies a vivid red heart, formed from flowing streams of color that originate from broken colored pencils scattered around it.
Each pencil – in a different color – has been intentionally snapped and connected to the heart by thin red lines of resin. They "bleed," shaping the heart itself. These broken pencils symbolize emotional, personal, and social wounds — each from a different experience, yet together forming one universal heart.
Golden accents appear within the cracks and around the outline of the heart, contrasting with the dark background and suggesting the idea of healing through suffering — reminiscent of the Japanese kintsugi technique, where broken ceramics are repaired with gold, celebrating their history rather than hiding it.
The background is a nearly black textured surface made of structural plaster, adding tension and visual depth. The natural wood frame (pero) brings balance and softness to the overall composition.
Dimensions: 93 × 93 × 4 cm
Technique and materials: MDF covered with structural plaster, broken colored pencils made of resin, red polyurethane resin flows forming the heart, golden pigments in the cracks and outline, acrylic paint, varnish finish, natural wood frame (pero) with French Cleat mounting system.
