Artwork title : Dual
Digital photography, black and white elaboration.
Dual presents an abstract, radical subtraction: a photograph of the sun is stripped of its color, of its warmth, of its context. What remains is a stark black disc—light’s origin turned into shadow—accompanied by a smaller twin, a ghostly echo produced by the camera’s lens. This double presence reflects the inherent contrast at the heart of light itself: wave and particle, visibility and invisibility, force and fragility. In this distilled composition, contrast is not only visual, but ontological—a meditation on duality as the structure of reality.
As the threshold work of the Ultralight project, Dual closes the cycle dedicated to perceived light and opens a new chapter: a conceptual and visual inquiry into the nature of light itself—its physics, its paradoxes, its invisible truths.
