Artwork title : Frame Lag
Frame Lag, 2025
70x100 cm
post-serigraphy, monoprint
Frame Lag is an author's print created using the post-serigraphy technique, which connects digital visuality with monoprint. The work works with the motif of visual delay of an image that cannot keep up with reality. The title refers to a digital phenomenon when there is a delay between the input and display of an image. Here, this phenomenon moves to the level of perception, attention and processing of reality.
The visuality of the work evokes a stopped or delayed shot from a video transmission, as a record of a moment that has already happened, but consciousness has not yet caught up with it. The disintegrated structure of the image, fragments of visual layers and the absence of sharp focus create an aesthetic of visual delay, which we can also read as a symptom of today's information overload.
Frame Lag is an image of a dissociated state, when our processing of the world runs with a delay. Visual noise, loss of continuity, and broken linearity indicate that something has been lost between what is happening and what we perceive. The image turns into a trace, an echo, or a signal dropout.
