Artwork title : Wish
**"Wish"** Oil painting 18” x 24” 荏苒沙丘影共遊 淅瀝入夢盼誰留 燭添繾綣香一裊 願以青絲換白頭 (Time slips by like shifting dunes, shadows playing together, The gentle rain drizzles into dreams, hoping someone stays. A candle’s flickering flame releases a lingering, tender fragrance, I wish I could exchange youthful hair for silver wisdom. ) **"Wish"** You’re here with me. ====== A few years ago, Mom suddenly left us. It was truly sudden... Completely without any preparation, she just waved her sleeve and left without a trace. To be honest, my relationship with Mom wasn’t particularly close, but I still felt sad for a long time... So I must stay healthy and live a long life, so that my daughter, who is very close to me, won’t have to face this kind of sorrow. And then, there was this painting, and these words. Later on, not long after finishing the composition, I experienced moving, cancer, treatment, health preservation... and another move. As a result, it was delayed again and again, and only finally completed today. Even now, I feel the composition isn’t perfect, but I have decided not to alter the original intention and truly finished it with sincerity. My own Chinese poetry (which I also try to translate into English) also expresses the same sentiments: longing, missing, love. Although I rarely dream of her, I guess… I still miss her a bit.
