Impact explores the precise moment when rupture becomes transformation. A violin emerges from a dark, textured surface, crossed by fractures highlighted with gold. Inspired by the philosophy of Kintsugi, Koumane does not attempt to conceal the break: she makes it part of the visual language of the work. The violin, traditionally an instrument of resonance, becomes here a metaphor for the body and memory — a structure marked by what it has endured, yet still capable of resonating. Through the tension between darkness, matter and gold, Impact questions what remains after rupture and how a fracture can become a new form of presence.
