Artwork title : The First Applause

When drawing this piece, I was moved by the movie The Greatest Showman, especially by the way Barnum transformed an abandoned place into a stage where overlooked people collaborate and create a performance together. A disused theater is painted in sky blue, representing infinite possibilities of people; and yellow, symbolizing the warmth shared by people as they support each other throughout the show. Spider webs stretch across the fractured parts of the theater. Just like spiders build their shelter by weaving each thread, the broken structure is reconstructed and connected together. The webs reveal the invisible bonds interconnecting people within the theather, as well as the auidence; wounded hearts are healed through genuine enthusiasm, the applause they receive, and the opportunity for a new beginning.
